FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced Friday morning that Joey Meyer will no longer be the head coach of the team and that Steve Gansey has been named interim head coach effective immediately.

Gansey has served as Meyer’s assistant coach for the past two and a half seasons. He will take the reins tomorrow night as the team takes on the Canton Charge in Canton for a 7:30pm game.

The lack of success on the court led to Meyers’ dismissal. Both Meyer and Ants team President Jeff Potter agreed that the team needed a new voice leading to victory.

Gansey's first game as coach was a 114-93 loss at Canton Friday night.

The two teams meet in Fort Wayne Saturday night
