Mad Ants Pick Five In D-League Draft; IPFW's Gaines Picked By Maine

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - The Mad Ants selected Alfred Aboya in the second round of the 2013 NBA Development League Draft Friday night,, their first selection in the draft.

A 6-9 forward out of UCLA, Alfred was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team in 2009 and averaged 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during his senior year at UCLA. The team drafted five players to complete the 17 man training camp roster.

The others were 6-5 forward Brandon Beasley from William Penn, 6-1 guard Kyle Randle of Central Michigan, 6-1 guard Salim Stoudamire, who played at Arizona, and 6-7 forward Titus Robinson out of Buffalo.

The Ants open training camp on Thursday at Concordia Seminary.

In addition, former IPFW star Frank Gaines was taken in the second round by the Maine Red Claws.
