FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - The Cincinnati Cyclones built a 3-0 lead and then held off a Komet rally in the third period for a 5-2 win over Fort Wayne Saturday night.

The loss, coupled with a Florida win over South Carolina, cut the Komets' lead on the Everblades to two points, with the K's having three games left and Florida four.

Jordon Southorn put the Komets on the board with a score three minutes into the third period, only to have the Cyclones come right back 25 seconds later to restore the three goal margin.

A Chris Auger score just over a minute later made it a two goal margin again, but the Komets could not muster any more scores, and Cincinnati hit a late empty net for the final margin.

The Komets close out the week with a 5pm game against Toledo at the Memorial Coliseum on Sunday.
