(New Orleans)- Former Boiler Drew Brees now holds the record for the most yards ever thrown for in a single NFL season.

Brees topped Dan Marino's 1984 record of 5,084 yards with a 9 touchdown pass to Darren Sproles on Monday Night Football against Atlanta.

Brees threatened Marino back in 2008 and came up short by just 15 yards. Brees and Marino are the only 2 quarterbacks in NFL history to throw for more then 5,000 yards in a season.
