Controversial Call Costs TinCaps

July 7, 2013 Updated Jul 7, 2013 at 10:51 PM EDT

Fort Wayne, Indiana - The TinCaps' two - game winning streak came to an end Sunday afternoon at Parkview Field as the Great Lakes Loons beat Fort Wayne, 8 - 4. The turning point of the game may have come in the bottom of the first inning. With Corey Adamson at second base and Maxx Tissenbaum at first with no outs, Diego Goris hit a fly ball to center field that was ruled to have hit off the wall just below the yellow line that designates a home run. The questionable call resulted in both Adamson and Tissenbaum standing on third. Rather than it being a three - run homer for Goris, Tissenbaum was tagged out at third. Chris Burke then struck out and Adamson was picked off third base to end the inning without any runs.

Fort Wayne and Great Lakes conclude their three - game series at Parkview Field Monday night at 7:05 pm. Walker Weickel will look to get the TinCaps back on track against the Loons' Brandon Martinez in a showdown between of right handers.
