INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Colts, as expected, announced the release of veteran All Pro quarterback Peyton Manning, citing circumstances as the reasons for the move.

Owner Jim Irsay praised the future Hall of Famer for his work on the field and off, and said because of the circumstances surrounding his neck surgeries, it was a move that had to be made.

Manning thanked the Colts and their fans in an emotional presentation, and said he wanted to keep playing, and feels he is moving toward being able to do so.

Manning admitted it will be a new experience going through the process of finding a new team to play for, but added that in his heart he will always be a Colt.

Irsay said no one will ever wear the Colts 18 jjersey again.
