NORTH CHARLESTON, South Carolina (21 Alive) - Peter Boyd's third goal of the game 34 seconds into overtime gave the South Carolina Stingrays a 3-2 win over the Komets Saturday night.
First period scores by Jace Coyle and Aaron Clarke sandwiched around Boyd's first goal had the Komets in front 2-1 through periods, and then Boyd's second goal 34 seconds into the third period brought the Stingrays even, leading to the short overtime.
The overtime loss dropped the K's back to eighth place in the ECHL Eastern Conference playoff race with six games left in the regular season.
The Komets next see action at home against Cincinnati at Wednesday with five of those last six games to be played at the Memorial Coliseum.
