FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Yeison Asencio rapped a tie breaking run scoring single through the middle of a pulled in infield in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday night to give the TinCaps a 4-3 win over the Lake County Captains in Game 1 of the Midwest League Eastern Division Final playoff series.

Asencio's hit drove in Travis Jankowski to break a 3-3 tie and make a winner out of Leo native and recently added lefty Brandon Alger, who struck out the final two batter in the top of the eighth after coming on in relief.

The TinCaps took a 3-1 lead in the first on another RBi single by Asencio and a two run double by Duanel Jones.

They now lead the series 1-0 as it moves to Eastlake, Ohio for Game 2 on Sunday.
