Large Crowd Bids Large Dollars At Komets' Jersey Auction

FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Hundreds of Komet fans filled the floor of the Memorial Coliseum arena for the Turner Cup Party and Jersay auction that netted big dollars for charity.

Mayor Tom Henry appeared with a proclamation and the Turner Cup was on display.

Komet veteran Guy Dupuis’ number 2 sweater snagged the most at $1,500. P.C. Drouin’s number 71 netted the second highest at $1,450 and Colin Chaulk’s number 91 took in a third-highest bid of $1,400.

21 Komet jerseys were auctioned for a total of $20,200.00.

Specialty items including a 2009-10 Komets scrapbook, five Broaster Boys Jerseys, a set of three Nick Boucher bobble-heads and a Chaulk-Syroczynski poster collected an additional $5,475 for a total amount raised of $25,675.

The net proceeds from the jersey auction will be distributed to charity
