Fort Wayne, IN – The Fort Wayne TinCaps were defeated by the Peoria Chiefs, 5-2,
Sunday at Parkview Field. Jaff Decker blasted a solo home run to the TreeTops Rooftop

In the 2nd, Peoria’s Drew Rundle bounced an RBI single to right to plate Junior Lake
and tie the game at 1-1.
The Chiefs kept the heat on in the 4th inning. Nelson Perez stroked a leadoff single and
scored when Lake drilled a double to center to make it 2-1. After a sacrifice bunt, Rundle
bounced a ball toward the middle to score Lake from third. Rundle reached on an error
and the score was 3-1.
Rundle was back at it again in the 6th inning when he hit a solo home run to right, his first
of the season to make it 4-1.

Ryan Buchter stemmed the tide with an inning-ending strikeout.
In the 8th, Luis Flores hit a two-out RBI double to push the margin to 5-1.
Fort Wayne missed out on another chance in the 8th when back-to-back walks put a
runner into scoring position, but a pair of strikeouts ended the inning.
In the 9th, Sawyer Carroll’s RBI double to right-center scored Blake Tekotte to finish
the scoring at 5-2. Carroll went 15-for-28 at the plate during the nine-game homestand.

Shafer allowed just one run over five innings to improve to 4-1.

upped its record to 16-13.
The TinCaps have Monday off following a stretch of 20 games in 20 days. They get back to
action on Tuesday as they take on the Great Lakes Loons (Class-A Los Angeles Dodgers)
in a 7:05pm start at Dow Diamond in Midland, MI. Fort Wayne RHP Anthony Bass (1-3)
