Meeting Saturday Could Settle Indoor Football Dispute

June 21, 2010 Updated Jan 26, 2008 at 12:14 AM EST

(Fort Wayne) - Freedom owner Todd Ellis and officials of the Continental Indoor Football League will meet Saturday morning in Fort Wayne in an effort to reach resolution in the dispute that led to Ellis being denied membership in the CIFL.
CIFL chiefs Jeff and Eric Spitaleri agreed to meet with Ellis and his attorney Mike Loomis after Ellis proposed a compromise between himself and the CIFL regarding his in question membership agreement.
The Freedom were booted out of the CIFL last week because they had not reached the agreement, which prevented Ellis from executing a lease agreement with the Memoriial Coliseum.
The Coliseum board of trustees meets Monday, with a lease deal likely to be discussed if Saturday's meeting brings agreement between Ellis and the league.
