FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy and his wife, Lauren, were in Fort Wayne on Tuesday night to sign copies of their new book, Uncommon Marriage.

The Dungies greeted and took photos with a line of fans at the Family Christian Store, 5509 Coldwater Rd., for two hours as part of a statewide promotion of the book.

The Dungies have been married for 30 years, and Tony says there is a similarity to his love for his wife and his love for football. He says the book focuses on day-to-day challenges of remaining faithful to a spouse.

"It's not always perfect," he says. "It doesn't always go according to the game plan. But, if you're committed to battle it out and work at it, you can have a marriage that is a real blessing."

Tony Dungy has written several other books about dealing with the complexities of life and tragedies.

Now with NBC Sports as a Football Night In America analyst, Dungy says he has no plans of returning to the sidelines.

"Lauren and I decided after the 2008 season that we had some other things in mind; the Lord has some other plans for us. We're having too much fun to go back to coaching."

The proceeds of each book purchased serves as a donation to Family First, a non-for-profit organization started by Tony & Lauren Dungy.
