INDIANAPOLIS (21Alive) - The Indianapolis Colts hired former Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski as special assistant to the head coach on Saturday.

Chudzinski joins Chuck Pagano's staff after one season in Cleveland. He was fired after a 4-12 season.

Chudzinski's and Pagano's connection go back to the University of Miami in the 1980s and 1990s. The two were Hurricane assistants together from 1995 to 2000. Also, Chudzinski was a freshman tight end when Pagano was a graduate assistant in 1986.

Chudzinski was journeyman NFL assistant coach between 2004 and 2012 before landing the Browns' job.
