Indoor Football Situation Muddled Again

(Fort Wayne) - Just when you thought indoor football in Fort Wayne ws smoothly progrssing toward a new season with the new Freedom, there is discord again.

Team owner Todd Ellis has been booted from the Continental Indoor Football League for not signing a contract with the leasgue or obtaining a playing lease with the Memorial Coliseum.

On Wednesday, Ellis said he was told be the CIFL that his fee for playing in the CIFL in 2008 was four times the fee he ws to have paid originally

Ellis, alledging fiscal misconduct and behind the back efforts to wrest the franchise from him, has fired team general manager Mike McCaffrey and head coach Eddie Brown.

They deny all allegations.

The CIFL says a new ownership group will be announced later this week.

Ellis says he will retain the franchise and work everything out.
