INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 17 (AP) -- Marquis Daniels scored 24 points, and the Indiana Pacers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 122-115 in an exhibition game Wednesday night to spoil Mike Conley Jr.'s homecoming.
Conley, who played high school ball at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, was the No. 4 pick in this year's draft after playing one year at Ohio State. He finished with 11 points and 10 assists for Memphis in the building where he won three Indiana state championships.
Jermaine O'Neal had 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Mike Dunleavy added 16 points for the Pacers (4-0).
Rudy Gay led Memphis with 22 points and Juan Carlos Navarro added 13 for the Grizzlies (2-2).s.
The Pacers shot 57 percent in the second quarter to take a 63-42 lead. Indiana led by as many as 28 points in the third quarter, but Memphis whittled that down to 93-81 by the end of the period.
Conley made a 3-pointer with 8:57 to go to cut Indiana's lead to 97-91. A steal and layup by Conley with 7 minutes left made it a 103-96 Pacers lead, but Memphis never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
Conley had 10 points and four assists in the fourth quarter.
