GARRETT, Ind. (21Alive) - The 21Alive/Parkview Sports Medicine Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 23 took home Allen County Athletic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player award.

Garrett junior Justin McCoy averaged 23 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the 3-game tournament. The Railroaders finished as runners-up to Woodlan.

The ACAC Tourney output helped McCoy's season average of 24 points per game. That's up from 15 points per game as a sophomore. He also averages 8 rebounds per game.

McCoy credits working on his dribble-drive and getting stronger in the weight room as offseason adjustments that have bettered his game.
