FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Since 1976, Russ Isaacs has been part of the Snider High School football program.

Ike as he's known by players, coaches, fans, students and even the media served as assistant coach from 1976 to 1990.

He took over as head coach in 1991, leading the Panthers to a 1992 5A Football State Championship. In 18 seasons, Snider went 194-32. Isaacs' 85.8 percent was one of the best in the state.

Isaacs would become athletic director in 2008, where he stayed until his retirement at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

In May, Isaacs was elected to the 2014 class of the Indiana Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
