New Haven, Homestead, Dwenger, North, Leo Open With Wins

UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - New Haven, Homestead, Dwenger, North Side, and Leo, all preseason contenders in their conferences, began 2012 with football victories Friday night.

Anthony Moore ran for 138 yards and a touchdown as New Haven came from behind in the second half for a 20-14 win at Heritage. Kevin Ware ran for one touchdown and passed for another for the Bulldogs, while Will Knapke ran for a score, and Connor Sheehan pased for one for the Pats.

Grayson Bastin toted the ball for 94 yards and three touchdowns in pacing Homestead's 53-12 pasting of Huntington North, Seth Coate added a scoring pass and a scoring run for the Spartans.

D'Marcus Moon totaled 203 rushing yards with two touchdowns in leading Dwenger past South Side 20-9, Donovan Clark ran for the Archers' lone touchdown.

C.J. Jackson threw for 282 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 138 yards with two additional scores in North Side's 54-33 offensive shootout win over Concordia

Rance Harris had 100 rushing yards with two touchdowns, and all three of Sam Waters' pass completions in the game went for touchdowns in Leo's 56-14 waltz past Norwell, who got a touchdown run from Piercen Harnish.
