FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Steve Keefer, the man who the now departed Matt Lindsay succeeded as Bishop Luers head football coach, has taken over that job once again.

Keefer, husband of Luers principal Mary Keefer, who made the decisions to fire Matt Lindsay and then replace Kyle Lindsay as the interim coach, coached the Knights from 1979 through 1986, and went 64-27 with a 2A state title in 1985.

He then went to Bellmont and was head coach there from 1988 through 1993.

Keefer, who only learned on Monday he was the replacement, says he told the players to retain focus going forward, and he feels they will with their knowledge and familiarity with him.
