Heritage, Churubusco, Luers, New Haven Win Sectional Openers; East Noble Ousted

UNDATED (incnow.tv) - Heritage, Churubusco, Luers and New Haven passed their opening football playoff tests Friday night. while East Noble's bid to advance was foiled.

Connor Sheehan threw two touchdown passes and ran in a third score as Heritage took its 3A playoff opener over Lakeland. Brenton Lockett and Dustin Swaidner returned fumbles for touchdowns for the Patriots, who will play at Tippecanoe Valley in the second round.

Jason Nicodemus ran for 209 yards and three touchdowns, and added two touchdown receptions in leading Churubusco's 38-14 2A win over Oak Hill. The Eagles will travel to Elwood for their second round contest.

Trevor Willmore passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third as Concord built a 35-14 lead, and then held off an East Noble rally for a 38-35 4A win over the Knights, who got three touchdown passes from Nic Weimer, and two scoring runs from Brandon Mable.

Nick Morken, Tyvel Jamison, And Jaylon Smith all ran in touchdowns in the Bishop Luers 23-8 win at Woodlan that sends the Knights to a 2A second round home game against Eastside.

Jordan Hogue snared three touchdown passes and ran for one while Anthony Moore scampered for 212 yards and a touchdown in New Haven's 43-20 4A playoff win over Marion, that nets the Bulldogs a second round home game against Norwell.
