Baseball Regional Titles For Bellmont, Northfield, And Blackhawk; Carroll, South Out

UNDATED (indiana's NewsCenter) - Bellmont, Northfield, and Blackhawk Christian secured high school baseball regional titles Saturday, while Carroll and South Side fell short.

Two time defending 4A state champ Carroll was ousted at the 4A Lafayette Regional 11-2 by Zionsville in the semifinals

Zionsville then won the title in the final over South Side 9-2.

The Archers had reached the final with a 5-1 win over McCutcheon on a three hitter by ace lefty Will Coursen-Carr.

Bellmont came from behind twice to win the 3A Bellmont Regional, downing Leo 10-2 in the semifinals, and then Hamilton Heights 4-3 in the final.

The Braves face Western in the 3A semi-state Saturday at Kokomo at 1pm.

Northfield claimed the 2A regional title at Wabash with a 5-4 semifinal win over Madison-Grant and then a 12-1 win in the final over Wapahani.

The Norse meet Hebron at semi-state at South Bend at around 3pm Saturday.

Blackhawk Christian rolled to the 1A Caston Regional title, pounding Caston 16-6 in the semifinals, and then taking out Morgan Township 4-0 in the final.

The Braves' semi-state opponent will be Lafayette Central Catholic at 1pm Saturday at South Bend..
