(Fort Wayne) - Tim Reinking has resigned after ten seasons as boys basketball coach at Concordia High School. The 47 year old Reinking leaves with a record of 142-75 with three Summit Athletic Conference championships, two sectional titles, one regional title, and two SAC Tournament Championships.
Reinking told Indiana's NewsCenter he was frustrated with his team's 9-11 performance last season, and blamed himself and not his players.
Reinking said the chief reason he stepped down was to keep his word to assistant coach Josh Eggold on a promise made three years earlier that he, Reinking, would step aside in favor of Eggold after the 2006-2007 season.
It is eggold, an eight year Cadet assistant, who will take over for Reinking, who says he will now pursue a master's degree, and adds he may return to coaching sometime in the future.
