FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The Wayne High School football teams hopes the 2014 season is a mixture of repeat and reweal
The Generals have a new head coach in Scot Shaw, who replaces Robert Brown. Shaw, who comes to Wayne from Michigan, brings a new style of play to his team.
Keion Powers will run the spread offense at quarterback. Auston Robertson has moved from offense to the defensive side of the ball, and picked up a Notre Dame scholarship offer in the offseason.
Wayne's players not only embrace the new coach, but understand how far they've come.
The senior class of Generals has shown dramatic improvements over the past few years: from a winless season three years ago to six wins last year.
Those young Generals have grown to become a band of upperclassmen leaders, pushing the Wayne team into the Summit Athletic Conference title picture.
Wayne travels to Anderson to open the season on Friday.
