FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Carroll High School had one of its most successful football season ever in 2012.

The Chargers finished 10-3, and won a 5A sectional championship.

"We don't talk about wins," head coach Doug Dinan says. "Wein are a biproduct. Through hardwork and investment in each other, we have the opportunity to have success."

Now in year No. 4 under Dinan, players know what is expected; and the program is confident in the direction its going.

"We're going to be physical and a quick force to be reckoned with," defensive end Tyler Hands says."We got a lot of experience coming back, and it's really going to show this year."

Carroll returns 11 starters from a year ago, but will replace 4 guys on the offensive line.

"Investing in the lives of others' is brought on a lot by our coach," wide receiver Brady Lucyk says. "We really need to do that, so we become one as a team."

Two-way standout Drue Tranquill, a Purdue commit, will be a focal point of the team all summer, but leadership will fall on the entire senior class.

"Through hard work, we're going to have a chance," Dinan says. "These kids have proven that they're willing to do that, that they have invested in each other, that they're committed to each other, that they hold each other accountable."

Carroll's booming enrollment has placed the school in the newly formed IHSAA Class 6A; but, expect the Chargers to welcome the challenge.
