FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Carroll senior Drue Tranquill has some more decisions to make about his college football future after receiving a scholarship offer Friday from the University of Notre Dame.

Tranquill committed to Purdue University on July 23, after paring his options down then to the Boilermakers, Indiana and Cincinnati.

Now, the offer from the Fightin' Irish puts new perspective on the whole recruiting process.

"That's recruiting," Tranqull says. "That's the game that it is. Offers will come in even after you commit. That's the game you got to play."

He also understands that Notre Dame could lead to renewed efforts from other prominent programs to seek him out.

"The national notoriety could spark some more attention. I'm just blessed to have the opportunity to go through this process," Tranquill says.

Tranquill says he will take a look at Notre Dame, and entertain any other offers that may come before the February signing day.

In the meantime, he remains verbally committed to Purdue.

"Purdue felt like home every time I went down there. Right now, they're the best fit for me."

Tranquill, who plays offensive and defense for the Chargers is being recruited as a linebacker. He recorded 40 tackles and 1 interception his junior year.
