FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - The NAIA Division II national champion Saint Francis Lady Cougars returned home Wednesday night to a hero's welcome a day after beating College of the Ozarks 75-68 for the title in Sioux City, Iowa.
Hundreds of fans were waiting for the Lady Cougars, and cheered at the rally for the team inside the gym where they won every game they play in their perfect 38-0 season.
Guard Skylarr Shurn earlier in the day was named the NAIA Division II Player of the Year and teammate forward Brooke Ridley as a first team All American.
Guard Jenelle Willson was honorable mention all American.
Also name NAIA All Americans on Wednesday were Huntington's Pazia Speed, a second team pick, and honorable mention choices Rachael Kruse and Chelsea Carradine.
Huntington's Shane Merryman was a second team men's All-American and USF's Scott Kohne a third team selection.
