USF Comeback Win Nets Conference Title, Home Playoff Game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - David Yoder came off the bench to toss four second half touchdown passes and lead Saint Francis to their 41-24 win over Marian Saturday.

The win coupled with a loss by St. Francis (Ill.) gave the Cougars the outright Midstates Football Association Mideast League championship and all but assured one and possibly two home games in the NAIA playoffs starting next week.

USF fell behind 17-7 at the half as the bogged down ran just eleven plays in the first half.

Enter Yoder, who all season has done his best work off the bench, to rally the Cougars with 224 passing yards and the four touchdowns to four different receivers, led by Cam Smith, who had eleven grabs for 159 yards.

Jason Nicodemus ran for 102 yards and USF's only rushing touchdown early in the first quarter.

USF will learn its final poll placing early Sunday afternoon, and shortly after that l;earn who its first round opponent at D'Arcy Stadium nex Saturday will be.
