Huntington (Indiana's NewsCenter) – University of Saint Francis head baseball coach Greg Roberts has been named Mid-Central College Conference co-Coach of the Year and three members of the record-setting USF team has been named all-conference with senior Derek Coverstone earning two MCC honors.

The three other Cougars named All-MCC included right fielder Tyler Gregory (South Bend, IN / Penn H.S.) and sophomore pitcher Wesley Hunsucker (Sidney, OH / Anna H.S.).

Roberts, an Ohio Northern University graduate, earns his second MCC COTY honor after directing the Cougars to just the second runner-up finish ever in conference play and just the second plus-.500 overall record in 49 seasons for the USF baseball program. Roberts was the MCC COTY in 2009 when USF won a then record 32 games and the programs’ first plus-.500 record overall.

The Cougars, who weren’t mentioned in the MCC pre-season poll, finished 27-9 in the MCC, a USF record for conference wins and winning percentage (.750). In his seventh season at USF, Roberts is 186-222-1 in seven seasons with five 20-plus win seasons.

Coverstone,(Sidney, OH / Fort Loramie H.S.) has caught 113 consecutive games in two seasons for USF, led the MCC in runs-batted-in with 47 and batted .299 this season. He was named MCC first-team catcher and was named to the MCC Gold Glove team at catcher.

Gregory finished with a .397 batting average, fourth among MCC overall batting averages, and he finished fifth in MCC-only batting with a .406 average. He also tied for fifth in MCC-only stolen bases with nine.

Hunsucker, a 6-foot-2 righthander, led the MCC in wins with nine and was just named MCC Pitcher of the Week on Monday adding his eighth and ninth consecutive wins last week. He set a USF record for consecutive wins overall and MCC wins (9) after losing his first three decisions early in the season. In MCC-only play, Hunsucker has the fifth best ERA at 1.89 in 57 innings pitched. Hunsucker is 17th in NAIA with nine wins and No. 37 in NAIA total innings pitched (85 2/3).
