Tech Rolls Past Lourdes

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women’s basketball team built a 23 point halftime lead over Lourdes University on Wednesday night and cruised to an 80-46 victory. The win bumped the Warriors overall record to 13-14 and 5-10 in the WHAC while Lourdes fell to 4-22 on the year and 0-15 in league play.

Tech jumped out to a 12-3 lead to begin the game and never looked back. Every player that saw action registered in the scoring column. Sophomore Ulyssia Richmond (Temple Hills, MD/Riverdale Baptist) led the balanced Warrior attack with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Three other players joined her in double figures. Senior Yasmine Coleman (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) had 18 points and six assists, senior Brittnay Jones (Harper Woods, MI/UTEP) finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and junior Keona Bruen (Indianapolis, IN/South Suburban) scored 12.

Senior Latoya Noble (Merrillville, IN/Merrillville) followed with seven points while dishing out a game-high seven assists and added a career best six steals. Junior Bryn Schlatter (Antwerp, OH/Toledo) chipped in six points and three rebounds and sophomore Kiley Camp (Russiaville, IN/Western) ended with two points and a career-high five rebounds.

For the game, Tech shot 49 percent from the floor and held the Gray Wolves to 34 percent shooting. Even though Lourdes held a slight edge in rebounding, 34-29, the Warriors forced Lourdes into 24 turnovers while committing just seven themselves.

The Lady Warriors return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 11 when they host the University of Michigan-Dearborn in their final home game of the year. Tip is slated for 3 p.m.
