BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (www.incnow.tv) - Freshman left hander Will Coursen-Carr, the former South Side star, again got the pitching win in a clinching game Sunday night in Bloomington.
Coursen-Carr threw five and a third innings as the starter as the Hoosiers topped Austin Peay 6-1 for the NCAA Regional title and IU's first ever Super Regional berth.
The freshman was also the starter and winner of the Hoosiers' clinching victory in the Big Ten Tournament a week ago.
Coursen-Carr struck out three and allowed just one run, and was saved a big problem in the second inning when IU center fielder Justin Cureton leaped at the fence to take away a three run homer from Austin Peay's P.J. Torres.
Kyle Schwarber's second inning homer started a big three run first for the Hoosiers, who never trailed.
