NOTRE DAME (www.incnow.tv) - ESPN and Irish Sports Daily reported Thursday night that Notre Dame quarterback Gunner Kiel plans to leave the school and transfer.
Kiel was redshirted as a freshman last season, and was likely to enter this coming season fourth on the depth chart.
Kiel gained notoriety when he first chose to go to Indiana in 2012, then opted to go to LSU, and at the last minute, changed his mind again and went to Notre Dame.
He is a former high school star in Columbus, Indiana and is the nephew of the late Blair Kiel, the former Notre Dame quarterback.
