COLORADO SPRING, Col. (21 Alive) - Tommy Rees shook off the effects of his nek strain to throw five touchdown passes and lead a 45-10 Notre Dame win at Air Force Saturday.

Rees threw his scoring passes to five different receivers and none of the scoring plays covered less than 15 yards.

Freshman linebacker Jaylon Smith, the former Bishop Luers star was denied his first college touchdown when a fumble he would have taken to the end zone was blown dead and called an imcomplete pass.

The call was later reversed and ruled a fumble, but because the whistle had blown play dead, Notre Dame simply got the ball at the point of recovery.
