EAST LANSING, MI (21 Alive) - Michigan State's defense was the difference in the Spartans' 14-0 shutout of Purdue on Saturday.

Michigan State forced two turnovers and Denicos Allen returned one of them, a fumble, 45 yards for a touchdown.

Receiver Tony Lippett hit Andrew Gleichert for a touchdown pass on a trick play for the Spartan's other points.

Purdue's closest attempts to score ended with failed field goal tries and the Boilermakers dropped to 1-6.
