Manchester Falls Game Short Of D-III World Series

MARIETTA, OHIO (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Manchester's baseball season game to a close on Sunday as the Spartans fell to host Marietta at the 2012 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional 7-3.

Marietta held a 4-3 lead heading into the ninth, where they scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning and held the Spartans scoreless to take the regional crown and advance to the Division III World Series.

Justin Scott took the loss for Manchester, throwing 8.1 innings with two strikeouts and six runs allowed on 11 hits. Trevor Kimm was 3-3 with two RBIs to lead Manchester. Corey Marchant, Jordan Nieman, Cody Schell, Kyle Norris and Austin Rieke were 1-4 on the day.

Manchester ends the year 28-21 on the year.
