CULVER, Ind. (21Alive) - Notre Dame worked their way into a routine Monday with the start of training camp.

The Irish are spending camp at Culver Academy instead of South Bend, Ind.

Carroll graduate Dru Tranquill made his appearance in the traditional golden helmet and the No. 23 uniform.

Former Luers star Jaylon Smith was also doing drills with the defense. Smith moved from outside linebacker to inside linebacker in the offseason.

Notre Dame will stay in Culver through Friday before moving back to campus for serious work ahead of the first game Aug. 30 vs. Rice.
