Irish Close Out Season With Win At Pinstripe Bowl

(NEW YORK, NY (21 Alive) - Tommy Rees threw for 319 yards in his final game at Notre Dame in helping the Irish to their 29-16 win over Rutgers Saturday at the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

T.J. Jones and Tarean Folston each ran for a touchdown and Kyle Brindza booted five field goal to help Notre Dame close out the season at 9-4.

In a rarity, Notre Dame tackle Zack Martin was named the game's most valuable player.

Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly announced Saturday morning that junior RB George Atkinson III and junior CB Jalen Brown will not play in today’s Pinstripe Bowl due to a violation of team rules.
