FORT WAYNE, IN – On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the Indiana Tech Baseball hosted Davenport University for a conference doubleheader and split, 5-8 and 3-2. This was the first home loss for the Warriors and they finish with a home record of 14-1.
The first game started off as a pitchers duel as each side had limited scoring opportunities. That changed in the top of the fifth when the Panthers scored five times but the Warriors bounced right back thanks to seniors Michael Bradburn (Brownsburg, IN / Univ. of Indianapolis) and Taylor Hoisington (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Sinclair CC) each blasting a home run to help the Warriors jump back into game.
Hoisington continued his hot hitting in the second game with 2 hits including his 13th double of the season and a run scored.
Senior pitcher Jason Ferrell (Columbus, OH / Miami (OH) Univ.) went the distance for his fourth win of the season. Farrell struck out six and scattered eight hits.
The Warriors will travel to Marion, IN to play Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 27th for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00pm.
