WICHITA, Kan. (21 Alive) - IPFW had a rough go at it in their women's basketball season opener in dropping a 69-46 decision to Wichita State Friday in the Preseason WNIT.
The Mastodons hit just 3-of-17 in the first half including going the last 11:56 without a field goal as they scored their fourth fewest points in a first half in school history.
Amanda Hyde led the Mastodons with 13 points while also pulling down five rebounds. Haley Seibert and freshman Rachel Rinehart each added 10 points.
The Mastodons now return to Fort Wayne for their home opener as they host Indiana University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
