The new year opens at home with a January 2 contest in a "Heroes Day" game against the Naval Academy at the Gates Sports Center at 7 p.m. Three days later Nebraska Omaha comes to town for a 2 p.m. tip at the Memorial Coliseum on January 5.
The first road trip of the new calendar year sends the ‘Dons to the Dakotas, where they will face the Bison of North Dakota State (January 10) and the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State (January 12). The next two weekends keep IPFW in Fort Wayne with weekend series at the Memorial Coliseum against South Dakota (January 17) and UMKC (January 19), and a Gates Center series against Western Illinois (January 24) and IUPUI (January 26).
The last five weeks of the year rotate between home and road contests, with the Mastodons traveling to Omaha, Nebraska on January 31 for a Summit League contest with the Mavericks of Nebraska Omaha, before the team’s final Gates Center weekend follows with on-campus games against South Dakota State (February 7) and North Dakota State (February 9).
A week later the Mastodons play in a Valentines-day contest at UMKC, before traveling to Vermillion, South Dakota for a February 16 game against the Coyotes of South Dakota.
