IPFW Men, Women Stumble At Home (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - Leading by nine halfway through the first half, IPFW went on a scoring drought, as Eastern Kentucky went on a 21-4 run to take a lead they would not relinquish in a 90-68 victory on Sunday.

In a battle between two teams ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 poll, 23rd ranked IPFW (10-5) was led by Mo Evans who scored 13 points off of the bench. Joe Edwards scored 12 while Isaiah McCray added 10 for the Mastodons.

For just the fourth time this season the Mastodons were out-rebounded, as the Colonels held a 32-26 advantage on the boards, led by Eric Stutz' nine rebounds and 16 points. Marcus Lewis scored 17, leading five Colonel players in double-figure scoring.

IPFW returns to action on Thursday night at Bowling Green.

Despite a 32-point outing from Amanda Hyde, the IPFW women ended 2013 with an 83-75 loss to Ball State, snapping a three-game winning streak.

Hyde also led the Mastodons with game highs in rebounds (7), assists (5), and blocks (2).

Ariana Simmons scored 14 points off the bench to go along with five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Stefanie Mauk also scored in double figures for IPFW with 13 points and grabbing six rebounds.

IPFW will have 11 days off before it returns to action, opening Summit League play at North Dakota State on January 9th.
