IPFW Men Win First Ever Postseason Home Game (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21 Alive) - Luis Jacobo scored 23 points and IPFW won the battle of the boards Tony Jasick felt was essential for them to do in a 97-91 win over Akron Wednesday night in the first round of the College Insider Tournament, IPFW's first home postseason game in program history.

The Dons erased an early first half deficit to lead 47-46 at the half, then built a bigger lead early in the second half and maintained it to the end.

Steve Forbes added 17 points and seven rebounds, Mo Evans 15, Michael Kibiloski a dozen on four three pointers, and Pierre Bland ten with seven assists.

Demetrius Treadwell led Akron with 25 points.

IPFW advances to play at Virginia Military Institute, or VMI, on Saturday at 1pm.
