Fort Wayne (Indiana's NewsCenter)- Head men's basketball coach Tony Jasick has announced that former Junior College standout Pierre Bland has become a member of the IPFW men's basketball team for the 2012-13 year.

Out of Florida State College at Jacksonville, Bland averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game en route to being named to the All-State / All-Region VIII squad, and First Team All-Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA).

"I'm excited about Pierre joining our program," said Jasick. "He is a quality student-athlete who will be a huge asset to our team and University. He brings two years of quality experience, and will be counted on to compete at the point guard spot for us."

Pierre scored 12.0 points per game as a freshman, pulling down 4.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, and will join fellow Junior College transfers Kevin Harden, Luis Jacobo, and Steve Forbes, and freshmen Will Dunn and Joe Reed as newcomers to the Mastodons in 2012-13.
