FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - IPFW women's volleyball head coach Kelley Hartley Hutton has been appointed Mastodons interim athletic director.
Hartley Hutton has been women's volleyball coach for 14 seasons, and is the winningest coach in program history (296).
"I am excited for the year ahead in IPFW Athletics," Hartley Hutton said in a university statement. "Our department is poised to thrive and move forward serving student-athletes and competing at the highest levels of success."
She also has served as senior woman administrator and associate athletic director at the university.
Hartley Hutton's appointment as interim AD begins Aug. 1, when current IPFW athletic director Tommy Bell leaves for the same position at Western Illinois University.
"Kelley's leadership in Athletics and her stewardship as head coach of the women's volleyball program make her a trusted resource for our university," IPFW interim chancellor for financial affairs said in the statement.
Hartley Hutton graduated from and played volleyball at the University of Toledo.
IPFW says a search committee will be formed to find a permanent athletic director; but no timetable for that decision was given.
Harltley Hutton says she will apply for the permanent position.
