SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA (www.incnow.tv) - IPFW's women's reached the Summit League Women's Basketball Tournament semifinals Sunday with their 106-101 double overtime win over Western Illinois.
The Mastodons not only advanced in tournament play, but helped et a new Summit League Tournament record for most combined points in one game and it also marks the first time a game has reached double overtime.
Stefanie Mauk came up with two huge field goals to keep IPFW alive late in the contest. Mauk hit a 3-point field goal with four seconds to play in regulation to force overtime and then she drove to the basket and scored a layup with three seconds to play forcing the game into double overtime.
All five starters scored in double figures with Haley Seibert exploding for a career-high 33 points.
Amanda Hyde and Erin Murphy each fouled out in the second overtime after scoring 19 and 20 points respectively
IPFW will meet top seed South Dakota State Monday in the semifinals
