December 17, 2010 Updated Dec 17, 2010 at 6:52 PM EST

MUNCIE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Ball State did not announce its new head football coach Friday, but internet reports continue to point to Elon University coach Pete Lembo as the likely choice.

Ball State officials said Friday no immediate announcement was planned on the coach situation.

Lembo is a combined 79-36 in ten years as a head coach, five at Lehigh and then the last five at Elon, where he went 6-5 last season.

Sources have told Indiana's NewsCenter that he is the top candidate among three finalists for the job.
