NEW YORK (AP) - A pair of quarterbacks, two running backs and a
defensive lineman make up the five finalists for the Heisman
Trophy, to be presented Saturday night in New York.
Signal-callers Tim Tebow of Florida and Colt McCoy of
Texas are headed back to the presentation after finishing behind
Oklahoma's Sam Bradford in last year's balloting. Tebow won the
award in 2007 and is trying to become the first two-time winner
since Ohio State tailback Archie Griffin in the mid-70's.
The running backs are Alabama's Mark Ingram and Toby Gerhart of
Stanford. Ingram has rushed for 1,542 yards and scored 15
touchdowns for the Crimson Tide. Gerhart was the nation's top
rusher with 1,736 yards.
The other finalist is Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who had 4 1-2 sacks in Saturday's
attention-grabbing performance against Texas in the Big 12 title
