WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (21Alive) - An Auburn company has been tapped to build a new softball facility at Purdue University.

Fetters Construction was awarded a $13 million contract for the complex expected to be complete by 2015.

The softball facility, which will be adjacent to Alexander Field and the Boilermaker Soccer Complex, is part of the larger Mackey Complex and will have a capacity of 1,000 seats with hopes of expansion in the future. The facility will be made of brick and masonry common across the West Lafayette campus.

A new press box is also in the plans for the project.
