FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Ever since Carroll senior Drue Tranquill picked up a football scholarship from the University of Notre Dame, so many wondered if he would switch his commitment from Purdue University to the Fighting Irish.

Tranquill switched his verbal commitment to Notre Dame on Tuesday, ending months of speculation while disappointing the Boilermakers.

"It's been a tough three months," Tranquill says. "I've been praying a lot about it, talking to my parents, my brother, Coach Dinan, Mike Ledo; and it's been extremely difficult, because both schools are great universities."

21Alive sports director Tommy Schoegler sat down with Tranquill on Tuesday to discuss his decision. Click on the video icon to see the exclusive interview.
