FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Carroll High School standout Drue Tranquill was an easy pick for 21Alive Parkview Sports Medicine Football Player of the Week.

Tranquill, who plays offense, defense and special teams, made the most of his opportunities while on the field Friday night in a 70-15 win over Norwell.

He had 8 carries for 200 yards and 5 touchdowns.

"We've got a good push up front, and they were able to open holes. I just had to see the holes, and run to them. I was able to do that."

Tranquill has committed to play football at Purdue, and has become quite an all-around athlete during his time at Carroll.

"He was a tremendous athlete last year. He showed that in baseball, too. He showed that in 7-on-7 this summer. But his leadership skills this summer have really flourished."

Unbeaten Carroll matches up this Friday with unbeaten New Haven on Friday night.
