VanMeter Heads For Arizona To Begin Pro Baseball Career (VIDEO)

OSSIAN, Indiana (www.incnow.tv) - His stellar baseball and basketball careers at Norwell now behind him, Josh VanMeter was slated to leave Monday for Arizona and the start of his pro baseball career with the San Diego Padres organization.

VanMeter, who has agreed to a deal that includes a $310,000 bonus and a paid for college education, was to join the Padre rookies beginning Tuesday.

He says plans call for him to start with the rookie level group and if he plays well there, VanMeter could get sent to rookie level Eugene, where good play there would likely have him in Fort Wayne with the TinCaps next spring,
